About Team AliveCoach Cony'a BeyCoach Cony’a Bey Grew up in Detroit Michigan as a 4 year letter at Detroit Finney High school, earning all city and all state honors 3 years in a row. He continued his career at Mott Community College winning a junior college state championship and earning all conferences honors playing for Steve Schmidt, who is now in the Michigan basketball hall of fame. Coach Cony’a continued his career at Eastern Illinois university for Matt Painter, who is the current coach at Purdue university, earning all conference 2 years in a row and defensive player of the year for 2 years. He also earned a Division 1 NCAA bid his senior year. Cony'a holds a BA in Communications and a Masters (MAOL) degree in organizational leadership. Coach Cony’a continued playing in Australia semi pro league for 3 years before coming back home to Detroit to play for the Detroit dogs semi pro team for another 2 years. Coach Cony’a Bey now resides in Denver and has been a assistant coach for North High School for 3 years and has ran the Team Alexander athletics program for 8 years. "Diversity is key and sports is our way of educating and teaching our children the correct paths of life..." Coach Cony’a Bey is the co-founder of team Alexander athletics with his brother Brian Alexander who is now deceased ....and we carry his legacy on today. |
